I'm developing my own damage calculations for my server, and currently (with physical damage), I have a smoothly scaling function. The problem is, I don't know much to multiply by in the final operation (that controls the amount of hits it takes to kill a player). How many hits should it take kill a player in Conquer Online?

PS: I should mention this, I'm basing these calculations on averages. The average hit will be between the ranges above. The overall hit to kill range will depend on classes for physical attack (obviously) and the way you build your character.
It depends what you're trying to implement. Are you trying to implement standard attack calculations? Or are you trying to come up with your own completely. See CSV3's AttackCalculator for standard impl.
The attack calculations I have currently (that I created for standard attacks given normal gears and attributes) work perfectly as far as scaling and all of that. It took forever to get right, but I'm glad I spent the time on it. What I'm trying to find now is, given two players of equal level and normal equipment, how many hits should it take to kill them?
Personally I pretend that all the bullshit classes that are easy to hit with don't exist so taking more than 3-4 hits to kill someone is rather annoying (FB fights) but if you're counting ninjas and monk type skills then I'd say you should not be able to take someone out in one batch of stamina with such easy to hit skills.
lets remember why no one like conquer anymore, coz of how op people are who have +12 items and since there is alot of them you can put on you its makes you hit

a player must hit at list 3-4 times to kill other player.
here is a exp
level 140 trojan with full +12 fighting with level 140 trojan with full +12
they should hit 3,4 times to kill each other,
level 140 trojan +12 fighting with level 135 trojan with full +10
now here the +12 player must hit 2 times to kill the person, not 1
and the +12 must hit 3-5 times.
what i am trying to say is remember that even if they have full build make sure its not over powered.
3-4 because Conquer has a very different type of PVP system than other mmos like Wow etc. since in Wow you could easily do those 3-4 hits, because you're most of the times near each other, however in Conquer you jump around like a ******.

Almost sounds like you're implying that WoW has a better PvP system than CO.
well i think 3-4 hits or even 5-6 would be fine if no one is using hp pots
but it sucks when you keep hitting each other while you both using hp pots and no one ever dies , wish i cleared my point
