A sticky is a thread that does not move down when another thread is made (unlike usual ones). They're usually placed there because they're IMPORTANT and avoid DUPLICATE threads asking for the same thing over and over and over again. It's amazing how much time can be saved by reading those threads.

What...? Nothing's changed in the past three months. That thread has been in that exact position for years... the author might have changed, but it's always been there.
