Hello, i'm trying to make my own flag (top dragon quest)
wtf is wrong with transparency
Is there a possible way to mess with these dds without losing transparency?
Thanks
It looks as though you have added a background colour behind the font. Either that or you have an issue with your alpha layers. I tend to just save them in Paint.Net so I never have any issues.
Can you post a picture of your .dds file here for inspection?
@shadowman123 : wtf u talking about dude, conquer won't read it if it's not .dds
@Fang : i'll try your Paint.Net but here's the idea: i make a new file with photoshop, and save it as png, open it from paint with the original dds, and make the required changements to make everything working

I'M TRYING RIGHT NOW
Open the file in paint.net. Then, bring it over to photoshop (if you insist on using it instead). After you're done, save the png and import back into paint.net. Then, save it in paint.net as a dds file. Making a new file increases the risks of it not being the right size or have the right placement. Remember to backup the original.
You don't need to do all that. You saved it with too little alpha, also you didnt correctly use the alpha layer. I will provide an example:
This is not a great alpha layer as i just copied your image and used that, but it shows you the purpose. Everything you want to be NON-transparent should be white, invisible should be black, transparent can be any shades of grey depending on how strong you want the transparency.
Paint.NET is a fail program and i feel bad for anyone still using it.
Well when you have issues getting .dds plugins working for CS6, Paint.Net is excellent for saving a .dds to png for you to edit in PS and vice versa. Anyone actually doing the edits in Paint.Net I feel sorry for though.

[RELEASE] Wallhack transparency modifier 10/07/2012 - Counter-Strike Hacks, Bots, Cheats & Exploits - 6 Replies What it does: It lets you change the opacity of wallhacks for games like css and tf2. So if you can't see through walls well enough or want walls to become more solid, you can change it in seconds using this program. Your wallhack change takes effect when you restart CSS or you can change your materials without restarting css by turning on sv_cheats 1 and do mat_reloadallmaterials. Only existing transparent materials will be changed to prevent making player models or the floor transparent.

Working with Alpha Channels (Transparency in DDS) 03/20/2010 - Dekaron Private Server - 10 Replies Ok so the tutorial before showed you the basics of DDS editing, and how to open it, edit it, and save it. Now in this tutorial, i'm going to be going over the more advanced editing of DDS. I'm going to show you how to use Alpha Channels, or transparency in DDS.
I'm pretty sure a lot of people wondered how to do this, its not that hard after you get the hang of it.
Ok so i'm not going to edit anything, but i'm going to start a new dds project from scratch.
