ConeX (Conquer 1.0) - A Simple Question!
Hello everybody,
I'm here to find out just how many people are interested in playing a stable Conquer 1.0 server if it was fully functioning and pretty much matched exactly how Conquer 1.0 was back in the day. Not a dirty remake like TQ re-released as Classic CO.
Myself and my real life friend knocked up a basic map login, in just a couple of hours. If there's enough interest in this area we will go forth with this project. Development will be so fast people's jaws will hit the ground.

Sounds promising. Pretty fast you got it up and running, I must say. Did you use an existing source or did you make your own from scratch?

We considered C++ but based on experience with server programming we went with Java, we firmly believe it's the better language for the job.

A couple of hours to login isnt all that fast 
But welcome to the club of classic stable 1.0 sources i guess, although you are writing in java so that remains to be seen

For game server programming yes, absolutely. If we were writing the client then it would be in C++ of course.
It probably isn't all that fast Korvacs, we far from raced to get it logged in o.o

I wish you the best with this project. Bleh, I envy the Java programmers. I`ve been coding a threaded socket server for an hour now because I couldn`t find an error in C++. Edit : I just found it lol. Turns out I can`t read.
