How to make your own server?

Ok so theres a post in guides and templates
But It didn't help anyone, a lot of loose ends, and dead links. So I am just curious if a genius and kind person can Post us a Usable guide to making our own servers. I'm not asking someone to do it for me, just a good guide that works. Thanks ahead of time for the assistance.

i have my own server and the guilde i followed is in these links

if you followed the second guide you will see in the one of the posts that when the game is started you only see the selector and nothing else. if anyone can fix this problem please post a step to step solution so i may also fix it.
