Ok this is where i am going to tell you how to work postgres as a service with Vista. It is my first time posting and my first guide so please deal with my little screw ups and crappy typing.
1: Click start or if you are on VISTA like you should be if you are reading this...The little windows icon at the bottom left of your screen.
2: Click Control Panel.
3: Click User Accounts and Family Safety.
4: Click User Accounts (It should be in Green letter)
5: Click "Turn User Account Control on or off".
6: Uncheck the box that says "Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer".
7: Click OK..After this a dialog box will appear prompting you with a choice to restart your computer. You need to do this in order for the changes to take effect.
Once you have done all of these things you are ready to install postgres as a service just as you would on xp.
PS: I have not seen a guide for this anywhere yet and it is in my own words so please do not flame me.
