Introduction

Well, I have a lvl 115 trojan and I think this is the perfect level (earliest, at least) for heading down to metzone.

I have: super +3 lvl 110 armour and the real met doves hit me for about 550 which means I can easily distinguish between the fakes (they hit 1) and the real ones, which drop 5 mets. I 3 hit the fake met doves (they have 10-20k hp and I only hit 3-500 on the real ones)

I advise using a super +3 lvl 112 coronet and an elite necky (Or better!) because that means that you shold be able to take a hit from every monster on the islands leading out (except for the last magic damage guy). This means that you don't need another noob to get your mets out!

Reason for coronet over earrings

On the way out, there are two main threats - the last physical monsters and the last magic monsters. The magic ones will one hit you whatever you have, if you are non rb so you may as well accept that. This leaves you with the physical attack guy, thus you need a coronet.

Also, earrings are prolly 3 or 4 times more expensive than same stat coronets on my server so its a cost thing as well ;P

Getting to metzone

(1) To get to met zone, go to new desert city, go to the top right and then keep going top left in each map until you reach an NPC. See --->

(2) Alternatively, you can go to alien apes in advance zone and go to the top right of the map. Again, see

In metzone

Now, the trick is to kill only the birds which drop 5 mets. Using the map, it should be quicker than single drops. You should use club-club for the highest damage and you should be able to kill then in 2-4 vanillas so bring a few bundles.

TIP: wait for a cyclone to come before youe take on the met dove because you will save pots so you can kill more!

You should definitely use the MZ map which can be found here:

Getting out alive

REMEMBER, you cannot scroll out of MZ.

Part of the bliss of being a 115 or higher trojan with gear at least as good as the ones that I previously mentioned is that you can afford to take at least one hit from every monster on the way out (except the last magic damage guy). However, I believe the last physical mobs can 2 or 3 hit you, so be careful! Just follow the

Using this method of taking a high level trojan means it is unnecessary to waste time bring another lvl 14- noob all the way to MZ.

Well, that sums up my first guide - karma welcome

There is another way which i prefer to take, I beleive it is faster but i have not really tested it.

Go to AZ
Go to the top right (*above* the canyon bit)
Go to the top right
Got to the top left
- talk to the NPC
Bam you are there

Also, the link to the Adventure Area map is broken :/

Otherwise it is quite good.

Is the real MeteorDove's defense higher than the "fake" MeteorDove's defense?

Maybe you could take suggestions from others and expand upon this guide into the "definitive guide of the met zone"

Fixed the link :P

And yeah, I 3 hit the fake ones (about 15-20k hp) but I only hit 3-500 on the real ones meaning im there for quite a few hits...

Firstly, none rb tros, cant take hits from last isle water devils, no matter what they wear, its simply impossible.
Sup+3 coro? going to Mz? might aswell not take it at all, Use Earrings, that way when u meet the real metdove = less damage.

Editted

And the reason for the coronet is that it is cheaper than earrings (generally) and you will be 1 hit by the magic guy at the end no matter what but with earring you will likely be one hit by the physical attack guys as well!

as a 120 troj earings do alot to make the real met dove not hurt u much at all. Though attacking all the doves is a *** plan using CO partner can get thejob done too

Well, CoPartner is a bit of a no go *for now* which is why I say go for the real ones using the map I supplied because it is slightly easier. Actually, I will add in a bit about 120 trojs being able to use earrings. But, before I add it in, can you still get out easily without dieing? (ie the normal way to boatman)

If you were to find only the real metdoves to kill then it will be pretty slow. Just kill every metdoves, those fake ones will drop met too.

Trust me, with the map it's much faster to hunt only the real ones. However, if you are waiting for ones to spawn, by all means kill the fakes.

isnt it jsut easier to take a lvl 1 noob out there like i do? maybe its easier cuz we have guild conductresses out there but its jsut alot simpler...and ears and coros dont really matter then if u take a noob. im a 129 rbn troj 1 hit fake doves and 3 hit real ones they only do about 200 dmg to me with a coro...so its really not that big of a deal:P

Good guide!

Never thought about using a coronet for escaping metzone without the lvl 1 noob helping you out. I wonder how it would work out if you had a cheap pair of ref/uni lvl 112 ears for met hunting and a ref/uni coronet for running away from the physi mob water devils.

Ive never made it to the explorer before with my archer (was lvl 110 last time i went) due to one hit ownage of the last island mobs before the first teleport.

this guide is pretty bad IMO. i mean the main focus of this guide is the leaving part. there is no reason to hop through all those islands when you can bring a noob under lvl 15 to mz and give him the mets and then let a dove kill him. so much quicker and youre guaranteed all the mets you gathered. your way poses risk.

edit - also one of the highlights of the noob taking the mets out is you get to stay on your main and keep hunting. i used to not leave until my dura was shot. my record was 220 mets in 24hrs. it gets lonely out there lol.

Well, at least one guy thinks its worthy of karma so far And also, It may be easier for some people to only take their main there as opposed to their main and a lvl 1 noob. Saves time, ya know...
