regserv32 \windows\system32\MSSTDFMT.DLL would not let me register the .dll...says can't find 'regserv32' ......any ideas? was able to get it to register using .... Regsvr32 MSSTDFMT.DLL, but memory address for HP not there....do you have 1 for it?

Sorry my bad yes it should be "regsvr32 \windows\system32\MSSTDFMT.DLL"
(guide now updated), TY for finding that.
HP requires DMA defeats to be on did you read that section in the guide, note its very dependent on the client version.

@everyone, sorry about delay on next version, just lot of things going on; but I will get it out ASAP and yes I will do the DMA defeats for 4358...
Everything but the DMA stuff works with 4358 using the 4356 memory file.

That must be my problem...have only been able to find 3454 .....could you please post a link to 4356 memory file.......and do you have a working

ty for co2m8 i finally found out how to use it :P. i have a hopefully easy question. i set up the jump dodge thing but everytime i do it it makes my computer beep. anyone know a way to fix this?

EDIT:i figured out u can do it by disableing the default beep in ctrl panel>sound>some other tab dont remember which. im sure theres a better way that dosnt disable as much but if any1 has this annoyance maybe this will help =]

Yeah set the function key combination your using in the games hotkey configuration, map it to an action or clear.

Hey Joek, first off...thanks for this. It's now my favorite thing for CO. Nice tight and clean.

I started using the password truncation option but I didn't like the time delay I was getting, so I stopped using it. Now when I backspace manually it backspaces twice and I have to add the last letter of my password. Any idea what's going on?

Yeah I noticed the double backspace happens on some systems(usually those with operating systems older than winxp e.g win98, it has to do with codepage setups)
A better way now is to use the FullLogin option select the character you want to login and then press the shortcut button for the client to start, this method prefills the account info as the client loads, so it gets around some of the other issues.


PS Sorry everyone I'm still waiting for the game client updates to settle down a bit before I release the next version of M8, lets hope 5000 is gonna be the last for a while

Well Thanksgiving is coming up.
So there will be at least one for that.
I know there will be new itemtype.dat because of Thanksgiving quest.
That might also be the time to implement something new too.
So new conquer.exe file might come out as well.

Oh **** thats true, forgot about Thanksgiving, hmm maybe I will do a interim release without the new client DMA stuff as the old clients still work.
