Edited errors.
This is my first major contribution, So bear with me...
All of the effect removal tools that I have seen require you to do a lot more than you should.
This file contains 4 files... "Remove Effects.exe" "Add Effects.exe" "3DEffect.ini" And "Readme.txt".
Setup is quite simple...
1. Move "LERT.rar" to your "Desktop" or any desired folder.
2. Extract "LERT.rar" to its own folder.
3. Use "Remove Effects.exe" to disable effects.
4. To enable effects Delete "3DEffect.ini" In "C:\Program Files\Conquer 2.0\ini" And follow Step 5.
5. Use "Add Effects.exe" to enable effects.
FILE:
---------------------------------------------------------------------
You must close all of your clients for the effect changes to take place.

I'd like to try this, as I am very much looking for a comprehensive effect-removal tool.
Can you make a list of all the effects it disables in the OP please?

At 1.4 megs it,s offly big for what it does, plus couldn't download. The site has problems. Mine is smaller just batch file and you don't have to delete anything to use it. Plus mine gets rid of arrows too.

Quick question: How come Cotobot lets you simply toggle effects on and off while this requires you to close CO?

Bacause CoToBo is packet or memory based. These fixes change the .ini files, there used by Conquer.exe when it first starts up, to set how the game functions.
So you must close it down before the file changes take place, then restart.

Can all the effects you disable with your and his program be disabled through packets? Because that would be ultimate.
BTW, I use yours and I like it a lot, especially now that those christmas things cause major lag.

You should have gone to my thread to post this guestion. But I'll answer anyways.
Effects can be turn off an on by packets like CoToBo used to do. One day CoToBo will be back, we just have to be paicent. I can't do that kind of programing.
Glad to be of help. :nice:

Thanks!
But a small suggestion for future releases (I hope you don't mind some constructive criticism):
You could have made addeffects.exe delete the ini file too and skip step 4 by that. It's quite annoying to delete the file manually every time. Or if this would have been difficult to implement into the exe (for whatever reason) you just could have included a batch file to do it for all the people who can't write batch files.
By the way: does this program work if you have Conquer installed in a folder other than the default? If it doesn't (judging by the fact that you don't need the exes to be in any specific directory), or you need to point to the game directory manually every time, then maybe a small .ini file could have been nice... that saves a path to the conquer folder.
Just my two cents. Once again, thanks for the progam. I will try it.
