Easy way to upgrade in TC with mets

This may have been posted before... but in case it has not been posted before, here is a method of upgrading your items cheaply (using less mets) in TC.

As we all know, high level Elite or Super items take a lot of mets to upgrade in the market, and in TC, it can take even more. A tried and tested method over several servers/accts/item types has proven that it can be done using less mets if a little preparation work on the items is done before the upgrade.

So, using a L107 Super Archer Coat as an example, this item would take an awful amount of mets to upgrade in TC. Also it should be noted after several mets have been failed on the item in attempted upgrades, some maximum durability may be lost, ie. the item becomes 39/39 instead of 40/40. However the lower the durability of the item, the higher the chances of a met suceeding are. This is because the game system will interpret the low durability as being caused by failed upgrades.

What has to be done then is to lower the durability to the point where the item has a much higher chance of upgrading. To do this, take the item to TC, and fail one met on it, the dura will be say 20/40. Then wear it to an area where the mobs are big, but you only take 1 dmg. Stay there taking 1 dmg until the durability of the item reaches 0/40, then go and repair it. The maximum durability for the item will now be 32/32, the maximum dura having been lowered. You can repeat this if you want, to reduce it to 23/23 or something like that, but it's not recommended to do this process more than twice or some problems with the item may occur.

Now, taking your item to TC, with some mets, it should upgrade much easier than it would normally. This has been tested...

L110 Elite +5 Warrior Armor -> L120 in 5 mets
L97 Super Archer Coat -> L107 in 4 mets

It may not always work this well, but the chances are good that it will save you some money. It has not been tested on attacking items yet, as these always upgrade in market, but durability can be lowered at the Guild Gates if you require this method of upgrading.

Also, with the ability now to level an armor in market with one DB, many may not see the use of this, but we know sockets are made mainly in TC and doing upgrades like this is just giving the player more chances of it.

A lot of people don't believe it works, so I do apologise if it has been said, but I did use search button and didn't find it.. just wanted to help out.

Also, if you had heard about it and didn't try it, now you know it does work because I've been using it over 3 servers now

Oh by the way, if anyone does try on things such as rings/bracelets/weapons, could they post their results here? So far I have only tried on defensive items.

I don't yet know if lowering the durability increases chance of upgrade with DBs though, I have only tested mets so far.

yes it does work for weapons well i used this method on my blades while back. yes it did upgraded. and a other great way to lower ur dura really quick is to enter labby and have the mobs beat u up. But make sure ur in a area where wont break the item either.

u just gotta pay attention to when it hit 0 stop immediately, sad but i lost a soc armour due to this trick
