Okay guys... I need a crew of about 4-5 people to work on this project. Nobody will take it on singlehandedly because its a pain in the ***. I am editing the itemtype.dat so you can see what the quality of an item is before its dropped. I just wasted an hour and im just FINALLY finished with the head gear for warriors :/
I will need sevral people to compleate this. If you wanna help (ONLY PEOPLE THAT KNOW HOW TO HEX EDIT PLEASE) Drop a line here, and I will give you a section to complete. And in case you need to SEE what im talking about I have included a pic. Please guys, this will be the first ever project on this forum that everybody will have a hand in. Once you sign up for this and are given your section, I will tell you exactly what to do. And how to do it All you need it a hex editor! COME ON GUYS!! LETS GET THIS ONE DONE!!

Hey, here's the new *hopefully* fixed itemtype.dat.
Have fun with it, seemed to work fine for me

Updated v1.1:
- 1 Bug fixed where some items would appear like "ReRPowerGown".
- Added an extended check to see if ONLY the name got changed and nothing else in the structure.
- Renamed items such as DeepSword & PhoenixJerkin that have 49 variations in a row.
- Only 3 items are now not renamed.
- For items where quality couldn't fit, I removed the last character. So a Refined SyeneticHelmet would become a RSyeneticHelme.

Updated v1.2:
- They released a new patch because the old itemtype.dat has for example displayed gold ore's as elite armors etc., this is just the new itemtype.dat processed with the itemtyperenamer.

Updated v1.3:
- Processed with v1.2 itemtyperenamer, adding moon box quest token names.

Updated v1.4:
- 1 item slightly changed for patch 4270. (GMRobe).

And for the coders: The mass renamer containing an interesting structure.
Read above if you wanna know how to use it.

This renames items as "Fix", "L01", "L02", L03", "Uni", "Ref, "Eli", "Sup", when there's not enough space it removes the last few chars until it fits.

PS: KitsunePaws was right, my brain was just a bit overheated .

Updated v1.1:

Number of unprocessed items: 5/10255 (More than 8 items)
Number of ignored items: 501/10255 (Less than 7 variations, eg. Gold, Scrolls etc.)
Number of items where last character was removed: 63/10255

The variations of eg. DeepSword seemed to be exactly like the others, just that they appeared in a row.

it wont show +s as + items are generated by the server not client side

Regarding the +1, there are different sets of the same item, could it be that each one is up to +9, meaning we can also see the +'s? OR is it that the sets are for different things?

Each normal item has 3 diffrent versions. kinda like
low-normal
normal-normal
high-normal.
And the stats go up and down a lil depending on which one you have

works excellent, only one problem. Today when i was testing this program out. I took off my elite boots and dropped them, to see if it worked, when I picked them up, I can't wear them anymore, because under the Job Description it said "Metal Saint" (Metal Tao is a class that will be added to co in co2), I could understand why this would happen, but maybe we should put a warning saying not to use this unless you are hunting, cuz it is buggy.

lol... good luck...

we still need to figure out some items like DeepSword and PhoenixJerkin that have a lot of ocurences... This version from chocoman4k is even less buggy than mine... Thumbs up for his code...

I'm downloading delphi and a C compiler to my comp... Doing this kid of stuff on VB is just plain retarded...

I am sorry, does the show items dat also show the mb command token type? I remember someone posted it... just wanna make sure ;p if not I will combined the two together thou I have limited knowledge in hex edit.

hix..i got a problem my blade and club shows no name infront and.. my super dex elite armor too all high lvl.. and my necky shows as elirelicsnecklace looks well on floor but then.. it is a tao class item! wen i unequip i cant equips! can u fix this?.. does it means that if u change another item of tao class to trojan/warrior class we can equips?. canyone willing to try?

It can't be fixed even if done by hand, this cheat is only good for hunting, other than that it isn't helpful, also you gotta change ur itemtype to the original and then wear ur equip, can't do it any other way :-P

I didn't write this, but it looks easy enough to do. Replace the itemtype.dat file in your ini folder with this one. Maybe back up the one you have first though. It displays the quality of the items on the ground. The only stupid thing is that +1 items don't look any different because they aren't listed any diffrently in the client data files, it's determined server side. comments on the edit (if you don't care and just want to use it, see the first paragraph) The edit doesn't look...
