Will this work for editing ps2 /DATA files and modding your own games from originals?
is there a way to extract the files within some .dat files or am I confused?
I'm looking to combine all years of NCAA and MADDEN playbooks and possibly rosters,
stadiums and teams to make a better MADDEN with Custom Playbacks allowed in FRANCHISE MODE.... adding the playbooks to season mode is what got me interested in this project to begin with. Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA.....

I'm trying to edit some dats to an app on iphone, I've never really messed with coding before so not 100% sure what I'm doing, but I followed your instructions on decrypting the file, and this is a screenshot of my end result: 
which is exactly the same as I get from simply right clicking and changing the file file extension to .txt.... any suggestions on uncoding that or point me in the right direction? I know its kind of small text in the screenshot so I can provide examples of the text if needed. Thanks in advance if you're able to point me in the right direction.
