Is it really that hard? What he's saying is that if you have the guys email address then he probably changed it to his email address, which you know, so you go to reset password which it shows you on the spot... here's a scenario
Scammer sells account to guy.
Scammer asks for guy's email address.
Guy doesn't see the harm so he gives just the email address.
Guy changes email address to his.
Scammer goes to forgot password and fills out normally except for email address part where he puts the other guys email address, and goes to reset password instead of sending it to the email.
