When we talk about TOP 250, there are more factors than just one that should be taken into account, the main ones being:
1. Do you intend to make the account that you will be grinding TOP 250 as your main account? If so, do you mind getting banned, right?
If that is the case, opt for DMA. Will it be more expensive? Obviously, but the chances of your account lasting longer are much higher (even more so if you take into account the recent RICOCHET updates)
2. Do you intend to get TOP 250, finish the season, get the rewards and then sell it? In this case, you may be able to use some internal/external cheat (if it is safe at the time), but always keep in mind that at any moment, the cheat you are using may be detected, and you will lose your account + have to pay for a spoofer (if you do not know how to spoof manually), so all the money spent may be in vain (cheat subscriptions etc), if you do the math, in the vast majority of cases, it would be worth it for you to simply opt for a DMA setup.
So it will be more like a gamble with more chances of losing.
With DMA, you can do both and you won't have to worry about cheat detections if you are READ only (keep in mind that you can still be banned manually/shadow banned).
However, TOP 250 is not just about buying a cheat and grinding it, you will have obstacles in your way, which if not dealt with, will make it impossible for you to finish the season remaining in the TOP 250, whether they are:
1. You will need a good account, bad/new accounts will easily be shadow banned, making it impossible to maintain your ranking in the TOP 250.
2. You will need friends, playing solo will greatly increase the chances of you sometimes having to play more aggressively, which will lead to more reports and consequently a shadow ban.
3. It will take a lot of your time, so have friends who are willing to play with you and really grind for the TOP 250.
In general, if you don't play smart, have friends, and a good account, it's unlikely that you'll stay in the TOP 250 until the end of the season (and obviously it would be good to always have a DMA setup, so you don't have to worry about detections).
