If he actually said that, it makes zero sense. Literally the entire verified chat is discussing bans and BO6 detections. I actually laughed out loud at how dumb that is.

Not sure. In my experience, developers are often pretty quick to clear up speculation and lay out a plan. It's typically either: “Yes, we were, and we’re fixing it - beta test coming soon if you're interested,” or “No, we weren’t,” and that’s that.
Like I mentioned in my response to TP above, it makes absolutely no logical sense to stay silent and let your chat act as the announcement by constantly discussing the obvious detection.
