The fact that this is a VPN is just an assumption, not clear information. For example, yesterday I saw that Open VPN was working on my computer even though I deleted it a long time ago. I don't know if this is a coincidence or not.

Any idea who this is even about? I've seen this mentioned on a few websites now but no one is naming who it is. I also don't see anything about this on major social medias like Twitter and such.

A competitor has distributed malware/a password stealer which, among other things, has stolen all logins stored in the browser.

We have created a portal where you can check whether you have been infected and whether or not your EngineOwning login is among this data.

Clarification: EngineOwning has not been hacked. You downloaded software from another provider. This software from the other provider has stolen your login data FROM THE BROWSER.

We also know that Activision and Battle.net account data was stolen/exfiltrated.
