How exactly will current HWID banns affect new the new MW2022?

Hey there EPVP,

I have just a few questions about how battle.net and COD/Activision does their HWID bans. If anyone could answer them that would be really cool.

1. Since Warzone 2 and Cod MW2022 will be on the new COD 2.0 engine, will HWID bans carry over from warzone, mw2019, cw or vangaurd?

2. If I have a pc that is HWID banned from warzone/mw2019, and I buy the steam version of MW2022, will I get HWID banned on that game thus ending in a game ban on the steam account?

3. If I buy cod MW2022 on a battle.net account that I currently have to spoof in order to play MW2019/warzone, and HWID bans DO NOT transfer to MW2022, Will I still get banned from MW2019 because I started the battle.net launcher without spoofing?

Hi buddy,


If I'm not mistaken the hwid bans will not carry over if you purchase from steam, however if you open and log into battlenet with a banned account you possibly will be flagged and banned so I'd be safe and maybe uninstall battlenet if you only used it for cod.

I am also hwid flagged so fingers crossed we get to play again spoof free!

I’m happy to refer you to a service that will permanently change your PC’s hwid. It’s a bit of money but it will change your computers identity permanently, windows updates and reinstalls won’t break it.

It’s the best option possible without replacing pc parts or gambling with spoofers, if you’re interested just shoot me a Dm!

What I always wonder is, when your Activison Account has been banned, does just logging into your old Battle.net trigger a HWID flag? There is no official Statement about it. On Acti Site it is just said, that Activision will report a Activison Bann to the battle.net enforcement Team.

i have the same question because all my cod games im banned cold wars vanguard mw19 and warzone i want to play again but i dont want to waste 70 dollars on it

No one can say for 100% certain.

But I will quote Ricochets enforcement policy below.

“Extreme or repeated violations of the security policy – such as in-game cheating – may result in a permanent suspension of all accounts. Additionally, any attempt to hide, disguise, or obfuscate your identity or the identity of your hardware devices may also result in a permanent suspension.

Permanent suspensions for security infractions may now apply franchise wide, including Call of Duty: Vanguard as well as any past, present, and future titles in the Call of Duty franchise.”

In some cases just cuz something is on steam doesnt change anything. They can just make launcher within steam when you play. It also would be most likely all under one database. Probably only hope is if they have a new ban list for the new game.

I've seen mad mixed reviews but to be completely honest even if we are hwid for it we should only be HWID for MW/WZ because if you go to appeal a ban it shows you what games you are banned from.

We honestly wont know for sure until release. But if its any consolation my pc HWID banned account was able to play the beta on PS5 perfectly fine. so if you really want to play it might pay to just get a console.

lol , its not battlenet or steam which bans the account .its the activision which bans the accounts.When you run the game EXE no matter from battlenet or from steam the richochet will also run with the game executable which will first check your PC hardware , serial numbers etc.Remember battlenet and steam are only to run the game nothing else.Bans will cary over 100% because it did carried over in MWII beta so offcourse it will carry over to MWII and also on WZ 2.0.

Well it didn't seem to carry over to the PS5 on my banned account. I could play the beta. No one can seem to explain that.
