I would like to know, If anyone on here, Can put into english and lamens terms, What I need, where to Find it, And any other suggestions as to how to run it.
I've never run a server before and know nothing from any of these guides that are already on here. They just confuse me.
A couple more prominent questions I have:
1) I have a pretty good computer (Intel Dual Core Clocked @ 2.26 Ghz, 4GB DDR2 Ram, 320GB HDD, Nvidia 9800M GS w/ 512mb Dedicated RAM.), Which is a Computer I actually use. I play a bunch of other games too, My question here is, would I be able to run a private server on it while still keeping it online for things like surfing the internet and whatnot? (I'm talking a Max of like 50 people playing on the server) Or would I be better off renting an actual server then installing everything via FTP?
2)I don't want anyone to be able to use the GM commands, but I'm ok with the DMG hack. Is there any way of making this possible?
3) How would I go about making it a Rebirth server?

New questions now:
-We're looking into buying a seperate computer to dedicate specifically for this server. Would we still need VM Workstation thing? Or could we just install CentOS and go from there?
