There can be some problems to see what is put in provider string. So I posted below these important info. Take a part:

Some problems with CabalOnline Server Settings ( there are not all possibilites posted ):
----------------------------------------------

1. Can't connect Windows with Linux in VMWare ( Version for LAN Servers Only Stayed On Physical Cards )
Check-out your network settings ( Linux IP and Windows IP ). Network in VMWare should be set up as bridged. Disable all Virtual Networks made by VMWare if you're not using NAT connection.

Settings Example:
----|Windows:
IP: 192.168.1.1
Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gate:

a) If you have LAN and your PC is connecting to internet through other PC: use LAN IP of PC with internet connection
b) If you're connecting with internet withough other PC, use one of VMWare Virtual network:
----|VMWare Virtual Settings ( Than you're not using Windows Settings ):
IP: 192.168.1.4
Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gate: -empty- or 192.168.2.4

----|Linux Settings:
IP: 192.168.2.2
Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gate: -VMWare Local IP or Windows Local IP
DNS:
a) If you have LAN and your PC is connecting to internet through other PC: use LAN IP of PC with internet connection which is sharing internet connection.
b) If you're using NAT settings you do not need DNS configured.

2. I don't have internet in Linux.

1. If you can connect with Windows in bridged mode ( you can send packages from Linux to Windows and from Windows to Linux ), so change connection type to NAT. Now you Linux has internet connection. However after install all needed things, change network type to Bridged. Or:
2. You have to share your internet connection from Windows to Linux.

3. ACE ASSERTION ERROR appeared.
Your /etc/cabal/DATA folder in Linux has incorrect files.

4. "Yum" procedure doesn't install anything.
This problem exists if your Linux doesn't have internet connection. Go to point "2".

5. DB Connection Refused.

You :

a) Don't have a correct SQL Version ( ver 8.0 )

b) Didn't write the right login and password to SQL in odbc.ini config and: DBAgent.ini,

GlobalDBAgent.ini, CashDBAgent.ini.

c) You have eval version of SQL which expired.

d) You didn't install correct FreeTDS for ODBC in Linux.

e) Blocked ports.

f) Firewalls.

g) Antyvirus.

6. GameGuard Problem.

Problem is with your client - change it to the other or use GameGuard Fix.

7. All users have GM Access.

You have incorrect luncher for CabalOnline which able everybody to use GM Commands ( Server24 - Test Server ).

8. Login Problem.

Problem with communication with the server.

9. Account creation error.

Restore your ACCOUNT database.

10.Character error.

Make the linked server in SQL called "GAMESERVER" ( it can be different name, but you have to change Store Procedure than ).

11.Can't Login after adding something to character in DataBase.

You WorldSvR.ini has antihacks for DB. Make these a-hacks offline.

12.When I'm using 'vim' command it shows something like: "Command not found".

It is possible that your linux doesn't have 'vim' installed. You can use older 'vi' command instead of 'vim' or install 'vim' manually.

13.When I'm writing the password for "root" in PuTTy, nothing is showing up.

That's because PuTTy is hiding linux password, that's why you can't see it. But don't worry. If you'll write password it can be remembered even if it looks empty.
