Originally, I was planning on completely recoding Mr. Paint, but I haven't had the time to do it. So, I'm releasing Mr. Paint, in it's current form, as a beta. Only a few textures can be modified, atm (~90), but I will be updating the list frequently. If you have any requests for specific textures, post it here and I'll get right to it. Also, if you find any bugs (there shouldn't be any, as I've thoroughly checked the program), post them here, too. Now, a few quick instructions:
You will need either The GIMP (with a DDS plugin), Photoshop(with a DDS plugin) or Paint.NET to modify the exported textures.
To export a texture, simply select the texture from the list, and click the "Export" button. When exported, Mr. Paint may have inserted "DXT1", "DXT3", or "DXT5" in the texture's filename. If so, you'l need to save the texture in that compression format after modifying it. Also, do NOT change the texture dimensions (ie. if the DDS is 256x512, leave it at that).
To Import a texture, select the texture from the list, click the "Import" button, and locate the modified texture. If you get an error about a "Filesize Mismatch", it means you either didn't save the DDS in the correct compression format, or you changed its dimensions.
The Browse window should be pretty much self-explanatory. When you download a texture(set), they are saved in "$MR.PAINT_DIR/Textures/$TEXTURE_TITLE". For example, if you download the Cobalt Osmium Armourset, it creates a folder called "Textures" (if it doesn't already exist) in the folder that Mr. Paint is in, then it creates a folder called "Cobalt Osmium Armourset" inside the "Textures" folder.
Before submitting a texture(set), make sure you have taken a screenshot of it. When using an image as a preview, try not to make it too large.
Please submit any textures you make, unless an extremely simliar one is already available for download.
P.S. I will, eventually, update Mr. Paint. The update will include the ability to import/export models, replace textures with files that are a different size, and change the glow colour of armour..
[Suche]Exporter 06/09/2010 - Metin2 Private Server - 0 Replies Guten Abend
Creating a 3d model viewer/exporter 07/08/2009 - Main - 1 Replies Hi guys!
I wonder if you know any resources to create viewers of 3d models but especially how to create exporters.
Me and a friend are trying hard to get models from games but sometimes the model format is unknown. Do you have any resource on how to "see" 3d models and convert them to something more readable?
Thanks!
