This is my first post in this section so @Acid, please move to other section as you see fit.
I will share my experience with automation because I want to educate people that it is NOT IMPOSSIBLE to create a farming bot for your own use.
All you need is the will to learn.
AutoIt
Warning: Slight rant here.
Numerous thread has been started and abandoned and pinned that discusses hacks, memory management, C++, etc. But why do people still ask for cheats until this time?
Because we all want instant results from the very little time we spent learning. And we abandon learning as soon as we hear new stuff.
I spent a week to understand AutoIt. For others it is slow. For others it is fast. But this is me. And I found AutoIt to be very friendly to people who are new in programming. In addition to the fact that it is the only automation language I could learn on my spare time. (Yes I work 9-5)
Now back to AutoIt
What I did is practice , practice, and practice.
Add a little knowledge everyday.
Repeat.
Once you understood how basic things work - reading pixel colors, moving mouse, sending keyboard strokes, among other
basic things, you could literally automate many things in game.
Now, I already have my own
- farming bot with autoloot, autoheal (this one has specific trigger like using BM, aura, counting mob killed, etc.)
- crafting bot for crafting in large quantity
- tool to sending and retrieving items from mail and deleting them (useful for sending stuffs accross different accounts)
- combo
- auto whisper, auto chat
- and my BIGGEST project so far, dungeon autofarmer where I start the bot and leave the it running to farm the dungeon.
- Boss selector on dungeons
With these Little tools, I can generally free myself from playing. Can leave the screen, watch tv, eat, all while AutoIt do tedious things that are time consuming.
special thanks to
bartbilf who gave me insights on many things in cabal
Basically you need only the following Autoit knowledge in your arsenal:
- calling functions
- control flow
- comparing values
- conditions
- variables
- watching pixel color
- moving mouse
- sending keyboard strokes
If you are interested, you could post your problem here (not how to learn AutoIt but some solution-based discussions)
Example:
How would I know if it is the right time to press the heal pots
What trigger can I use to know that crafting is already finish and I need to request another?
Happy Learning!
