So I was brainstorming possible ways to hack and I thought why not turn it into a discussion!

Ex. Do you think it's possible to edit the packets such that you always succeed an upgrade. Or you always get rate as the random option? I'm pretty sure these things are purely server sided(correct me if I'm wrong) but I was also thinking our client has to send something to the server saying we are using a UCH to upgrade X item... so what if we edited that one packet to PCH? Same can apply to any item I guess SeM to SeH or SeHH. Post your thoughts and ideas!

Not very likely with upgrading or changing items at all, I doubt the server would accept any packets like that, if it even waits for any packets from a client after a drop relative to what the item is. Most people who can manipulate packets don't need "+15" gear as its irrelevant to having those types of exploits (more effective wallhacks without fusing maps, or no skill delay without the misses/dc.)

People like to hack to get gears to show off to pretend their legit... makes +15 gear very valid. I was thinking even if you CAN do the No CD and No Delay, you would still need massive amounts of money(and dungeon farming) in order to + something so "theoretically" it'd be easier to hack your way to that as well.

"Hacking" to get gear is not the same as manipulating packets for some game-breaking drops or enhancements, and as I said I doubt its even plausible, even if theoretically possible.

There was past techniques to cause d/c which would roll the char back a few secs before the update, or ft2 type glitch where the whole server would reset and rollback a few secs. About as close as you came to anyone using a enhancement hack that I know of.

Gear is irrelevant if you can nocd/skill delay without dc, or walk over/into walls in dungs, in most situations they could just pew pew with little to no dmg taken if they know what they are doing. Even with a base char 150 you could put on all junk 3-4% amp gear and the advantage of nocd/delay without dc would outweigh any potential dmg given from gear and normal re-targeting, add to that the possibility of doing this inside a wall or behind something without being touched, thats why logically its not relevant.

The average CE user would probably want to attempt to make a profit off it somehow, but realistically anyone whos packet editing probably has different priorities then becoming all +15 gear or showing off, that would sound like the typical CE user .

zombie_misfits, I imagine when you get all the Alz you want it gets bored soon, but well, now I earn 100kk a day max without lucky drops, it's like 3b a month. It's still 2 months per uber part, and I would only be able to spent such an amount on a legit character. So without the ''fast'' alz, it's still fun to hack. When you play legit it just sucks to get a bit of Alz! Before AH I was a reseller, legit. Nowadays it's almost impossible to earn such an amount of alz in a fair way.
