I did, in short it's like this
1. freeze nation value to 3
2. relog

doing this, makes no change to how i appear on my buddy's buddylists.

This is correct. Maybe this has been patched/changed in EP7.

It seems that this is quite useless

Looks like you just had a bug, we all had it before that when you came in Cabal you appeared offline, don't think it has to do with GM-nation

This was no bug for sure. We all used this in EP5.
Looks like it's fixed in EP7.
