I think what he means is that his game freezes at some point and he wants to "unfreeze" it which is not possible. The process is not frozen. It's working on sth. and not responding to your operating system because it is working. Often, "freezing" is caused by an infinit loop and the process will never ever again be able to respond. That's why you have to kill it.
