[DL/Tutorial] HeroZero private server 2023 (ruffle.rs)

Hi, since some time ruffle.rs is able to run the Hero Zero game client in one of the older versions that I happen to have on my computer. I don't need it for anything, so I'm uploading the server files with ruffle.rs added to them.

Note: This is my old reveres files mod for a slightly newer version of the client. Unfortunately, this older client still doesn't work.

Installation

HTML Code:

1. Open the file server/config.php and make the following changes:
a)
'hostname'=> 'localhost', (your database host)
'username'=> 'root', (your database username)
'password'=> '', (your database password)
'database'=> 'test', (your database name)
'charset'=> 'utf8', (character encoding in the database, it's best to leave it as is)

b)
'server_id'=> 'S1', (you can change this, it's the text in parentheses in the server's name in the game menu)
'server_name'=> 'ZeroGame', (you can change it to your name or leave it as is)
'server_domain'=> 'localhost', (put your host here or leave it as localhost)
'title'=> 'ZeroGame', (you can change it to your name or leave it as is)
'mail'=> 'none'

Ruffle related issues (quickly identified):

- Overly rounded window shapes.
- Lack of response to keys like Tab and Enter.
- Companions causing client crashes now.

Ruffle.rs Updater

In the ruffle directory, there is a file called updater.php that allows for automatic updates of ruffle.rs (nightly builds are available there every day). To run it, you need to go to the server link/ruffle/updater.php?password=(by default, it's 2137, but you can set your own password in the updater.php file).

Here's the relevant code snippet for setting the password check in the updater.php file:

Automated installer (experimental)

There is also an automatic server installer, how to use it:
1. visit: http://hz-server.5v.pl/dl_setup.php
2. in the FTP of your server, create setup.php file and paste there the code that appears in step 1.
3. go to <SERVER_ADDRESS>/setup.php
4. fill in the form data and click "Install"
5. done, the server has been created!
