The army configuration is different for each town. Are you sure that the textboxes for your army setup are filled for each town?
Because you can only get this error when one of the text boxes is empty.
When you have checked them all be sure to press the save button to fix any possible error in your save file.

Yeah, I actually re-expanded the utility, just changed the logon details (did not touch the 'Army' screens or text boxes, so they are all set to '0'), logged on, and set it to start, with the same error...?

I actually checked the settings files, and apart from the settings.txt file, none of the files in the config directory are saving any settings...

Saving works just fine. Please try what I said before:
Open the army window, check them for each town (and press apply for each of them). When you have checked them for each town press the OK button and after that press the Save button on the main GUI.

When everything is saved correctly you error with attackFarmer() should be gone too.

Sorry to disappoint, but I have done all of that. The Win7 OS did not save, but it does save on W2K. Saved with each city, and even did Load to check that it loaded the configs. However, still error:
Exception in attackFarmer(): Input string was not in a correct format.
Exception in updateFarmerGUI(): Input string was not in a correct format.

Is it possible that the number of cities has something to do with it? The version with one city, that works fine, I changed for the version that has multiple cities, and the error showed up... and when I went back to the single city world, the error went away...

It could be that the problem is caused because you have multiple towns, but I can't test that at the moment because I have only one town.

About the saving issue on win7, did that give any information in debug.txt? Because I'm using win7 too without any problems.

And one more thing, just to be sure.
Do you copy the bot to a new directory for each world you use it on, or do you have only one bot for all the worlds?

Different directory for each. Nothing in debug.txt regarding saving - just the error reported earlier. I'll keep trying different combinations and let you know what I find.

Something different. With the initial login, it gives the following into debug,txt:

6:53:02 AM Exception in updateFarmerGUI(): Input string was not in a correct format.
6:53:05 AM Exception in updateFarmerGUI(): Input string was not in a correct format.

Then the following when set to run:
6:58:29 AM Connection to server lost. Reconnect in 60 seconds
6:58:30 AM Exception in attackFarmer(): Input string was not in a correct format.

Quick question: When attacks initiate, when does the attack timer next start? Is it time from the previous initiation of attacks, or once the attack cycle has completed? If it is timed from the previous initiation point, what will be the effect if the attack cycle (the time it takes to cycle through all cities) is longer than the attack timer?

What would cause the loss of server connection? Is there an internal 'pulse' or server connection that takes place? I ask because of the "Connection to server lost. Reconnect in 60 seconds" error...

When you get the exception in attackFarmer() the bot stops the connection with the server. Because of this you get the connection lost error too.

ur bot need really need a better interface (GUI), it work good and got building troops queue, but need to revamp the gui.

another thing that need to be change
- for attack tab

there is the button "max", but when u building troops non stop, u always need to come back to attack tab and click "max" only when all troops are stationned, to be sure the bot will farm with all troops

So the bot really need to know itself what troop are in town and not and always allt he troops to farm, without the need of come back everytime to click max when new troops was built or when troops that was farming are return.

So just an option, for each units, like a "max" button, when u click max for slingers example, and the bot will always use all slingers to farm

atm it's boring without this.
coz i build troops 24/24h and i need to come back to click "max" every 30mn (only when all my troops are not farming), to reclick max and be sure the bot will count my new troops to farm.

Thanks for the feedback, but have you any tips on how to improve the GUI?
In my opinion the current GUI is simple, useful and easy to understand for everyone. Let me know if you have any specific parts of the GUI you want to change.

About the max. button. That's a disadvantage by design. I could fix this by starting to use percentages. If you enter then 100% for a specific unit in the attack window the bot will always use all the units of that type...
But I have chosen to use exact numbers to give everyone more control on the exact numbers they want to use for attacking. At the moment I haven't any plans to change this.

Both ideas have there (dis)advances. I know it's not that fun to update your settings every 30 minutes, but is that really necessarily? I mean, it's only a few units, you would do just fine if you update it before you go to sleep and before you go to school/work/etc.

I'm open for suggestions, and have already changed lot's of things the last month. If you have any ideas or want to discuss a few things let me know.

i just recreate a new account, and when u start a new town, u really need to use all ur troops always to farm, each new unit added to ur army it's more ressources and faster ur town growth especially at start.

for the revamp of the gui, u can't add an browser tab ?

all the best bot for browsergame got one
look TMbot (for travian), this bot got a dam good gui, with all features needed in all browser game like TW, KA, Grepolis, Ikariam, etc....
u can take it for example, coz it's the best browser game bot ever made.

ok adding a % for each units will be good

Another idea for the gui
in the main windows, add a line with troops actually in town, like that we always know how many troops are in town, no need to open firefox to check

EDIT : last thing, if u want to know what need to be added in the bot, just keep in mind a bot replace the use of the browser to check everything.
atm with ur bot i need to check often firefox, my account
So bot need more features
when we can use ur bot and only ur bot to play grepolis (never open IE or firefox to check) ur bot will be perfect, like the TMbot, i use it since 4-5 years and i never check my account on firefox.
why i like the other grepolis bot, it's simple just for this, with it no need to check ur acc in IE/FF

@utharnl: some feedback... maybe u remember i lost some amount of horses with farming... I use at the moment the 1.9.2 version and i have since ~1 week no problem with loosing troops at farmers ( before i used the 1.9.0 version ).

I will watch some more week but it seems to be ok now :-)
( info: i farm at 3 islands and have 15 towns atm ).



edit 12.07.2010....****, it happened again :-( . I lost horses again. The bot gave strength to a farm that was attacked some minutes ago, and also he attacked the same farm after it gave strength again.
It seems the bot lost somehow the information of the strength/support amount or he lost the farmer infos (or maybe it connected the false values from another farmer to that specific farmer )?? Its because it happened only at that specific farmer ( this time, the last time it was another farmer but the same issue ).
