First peek early alpha stage build release. Most features not working. Stability not guaranteed.


If you just feel like you ABSOLUTELY need help with it, and DESPERATELY want it running, I might be able to lend SOME help over skype. SOME. I will not set the entire thing up for you and I will not tolerate someone with 0 IT knowledge trying to ask me how to set up mysql or apache.
Instructions:
Edit runrelease.bat and enter your information. Bind on ip 0.0.0.0 to bind on ALL ips, or just 127.0.0.1 to only let yourself play.
MySQL connects on default port 3306.
To make an account, login with a new user/pass. It doesn't have to be an email. Your first login will create the user/pass combo for you.
You must host the webroot yourself whether it be locally or on a domain. It needs to be
it needs a subdomain and it has to be at the top most level. It can be anything you desire so long as those conditions are met. You can even use your own webhosting and fake it. Add an addon domain to your webhosting for evony.com, add a subdomain to that domain 1.evony.com, then in your hosts file make 1.evony.com point to your webhost. All files in that dir will be served out and the evony client will be nonethewiser.ENJOY.

Cents (you can buy from shop or buy speed ups - no wheel spins yet (code is done, but had to be removed due to incompatibility with new netcode))

Resource pooling (your cottages/farms/lumbermills/etc will generate resources like they should)
Basic hero interaction (you can list, hire, fire heroes.. I think they might also alter productions like they should)
Alliance creation, addition of members, chat, motd, promotion, demotion, etc
Rankings (you can list, search, sort by city, alliance, hero, prestige, etc)
Wall defense building (can't speed up though)
Troop building (can't speed up though)
Researching (research itself DOES work if you own the research, but I don't remember if you CAN research)

Been working on this for a week or so. This is the current progress. I'm not entirely sure of the plans for it once it's completely made like whether or not the source is made public, but we'll see once it gets to that point.
Before anyone asks, there is no public/private test area (aside from my own local testing). I am the sole developer for this project.
For those interested: it is written entirely in C++.
Also, sorry for such a late pserver release. It's what, almost 2.5 years after game release? I've only been playing a few months or I'd have made one sooner
