Hey,

Well you can decompile the code just fine and recompile it.
But not all parts are that easy, so bytecode editing is best .

Although i myself create some files myself compile them and replace them.
And use bytecode for some parts hard to reach.

But i havent checked all code so didn't know it had tripwires it didn't have it in older versions.
Might be why my last small try didn't work haha.
Thanks for the info. If i find my other external with the tools i normaly use i might give it a shot again.

Barring a group of about 10 people working full workdays to clean up the code, there's no way you're going to recompile the decompiled classes. And recompiling a single class file that's part of a package won't work at all. For several reasons I won't go into. So class file editing is your only alternative at this point.

Fortunately, .class files are retardedly simple to edit if you know the structure. See wikipedia. They are basically just a massive container object with the bytes "0xCAFEBABE" as the beginning of the file. If you trace the file object's enumeration fields, they tell you exactly where every string, int, float, method, object, reference...you name it...is inside the file (it's offset in hex.) Anyway. Just editing the bytecode by hand is a snap, though you can set up a RegEx to do it automatically (which is how I was cracking the bots when I was doing them.) once you figure it out.

I can assure you, that you can recompile decompiled files.
I'm not saying you are simply going to decompile all classes and recompile them.
But simply decompile the file you need using a good compiler make sure it doesnt change any names of methods etc.
And fix up the code then put the .java file next to the .class files and then from the right directory call javac to compile only that file you might have to delete the metainf or alter it.
