I've never played this game... is it worth to start?
I heard the ''original'' server cost very much time to build a good char...
BDO is more about farming, questing etc then PVP?

And what about private servers? Are there any good ones? With faster xp etc.

Is it worth to start? Yes, BDO is definitely worth trying if you never played it before. It has awesome skills system, big world to explore, undisputed best character creation system in MMO genre.
But, is it worth to continue playing after discovering all of the mentioned above? No. All end game content is depend on grinding, a LOT of grinding. For some reason a lot of people usually say something like "You don't need to grind for gear, you can earn a lot of silver from lifeskills", though this is just another way of grinding.
PvP in BDO is kinda fun due to such interesting skill system, however be prepared to be punished for playing on non-meta class. Despite most of the classes are viable, some of them simply better than others. Also, usually new classes being released in OP state to motivate players on rerolling and spending money on it.
Open world PvP(PK) is mostly dead and constantly being killed even further on most of the regions(Unable to equip non-quest/non-enhancable gear, losing enhance level on any death). NA/EU region was having PK in semi-alive state before 2021 year, have no idea if that was changed since new year due to transitioning servers into Pearl Abyss ownership.
TLDR: BDO is game about grinding.
For sure retail server is huge time/moneysink.
Private servers is mostly **** too due to a different reasons, but at least you won't be losing that much time/money as on retail.
As fas as I know, GamezBD is the only server with somewhat good online and fixed bugs. EvolutionBDO might be an option too, but they are a bit retarded, I wasn't even able to start playing because "server box is windows10" < this is literally quote btw.
Other servers not worth mentioning at all, they are java emulated garbage with tons of bugs. At this point you can simply download server files for free and start your own server.

you can do fine in this game without whaling. sure you probably wont be top 0.001% but pretending that you can only compete in this game if you are a whale is ******* mentality and just not true

Alright, thanks for the answer. So if I wanna play and enjoy this game and don't spend to much time/money I should go for a private server with better rates? Well... GamezBD, EvolutionBD or any other server... what's best?

Just go for GamezBD. Despite I don't rly like it, there is simply no better alternatives.
It has somewhat working anticheat, it has largest playerbase compared out of all private servers, it has most up to date version out of all private servers. Also it's oldest private server that I know, have no idea when it was created, but I definitely was playing on it in 2017.

I haven't played EvolutionBDO myself(because they are the only private server I've ever seen that only compatible with windows10), but is some interesting info about EvolutionBDO that was posted on this forum recently.

Other servers might have higher rates than those two, but generally they are not worth playing due to being outdated, buggy, and missing a lot of features.

Btw, nothing stops you from downloading multiple clients and trying/comparing them out yourself.

Oh, forgot to mention another interesting option: Retail test server. Kind of sandbox server to try out newest content that not yet released on other regions.
You basically start as lvl60 character with tons of skillpoints and ways to get infinite amount of money/enhance materials/endgame gear/best mounts/etc.
As a downside(or not?) it has absolutely no cash shop, so you are missing out a lot of nice outfits. Also sometimes it's getting wiped.
iirc it requires you to have lvl56+ character on one of the retail server to register on test. If you want, I can give you test server account though.
