BF2042 is getting a new anti cheat

Looks like Battlefield 2042 is getting a new anti-cheat, which will replace EasyAntiCheat.

Will be interesting to see how the cheat providers fare against the new, unknown anti-cheat. Its also a kernel AC just like EAC.

Same. Maybe they want to test it before applying to other games such as Apex or the next Battlefield?

They mentioned that they will implement it in other EA games aswell, probably they will be changing EAC to their own AC. There has been some rumors that Apex gonna get anticheat updates, so it might be it

There was no official statement back then, just rumors. Not everything is official and it's releasing in october.

I don't really believe that it has any difference with EAC. Just that they don't want to spend extra money. EA being EA as always.

I honestly hope they **** it up like Activision with Ricochet and it ends up being worse than EAC lol.

Unless they are planning to utilize EAC *and* their new in house anti cheat, I dunno.

It's a huge downgrade in terms of security. And it's not new, they used it in FIFA.
EA AC is a cost-cutting decision, they just don't want to pay a third party.

What was everyone expecting? There is so many cheats out there of course big AAA companies will try to implement new stuff.. And before anyone even complains about how key loggy or sketchy this anti cheat measures are.. Look at the cheats your buying.. Devs can easily infect your systems with them.. They can be used to do some damage on your system or work like keyloggers.. No different than a Anti Cheat, guess you gotta fight fire with fire.
