So, either Aeria have made a HUGE screw up today, or they're just banning random accounts.
Seven people I know got banned today. No reasons were sent to them by mail or no warnings or anything, but check this out : Every single person I know that got banned doesn't bot or cheat in any way at all. I feel kind of bad because I use bots all the time and was left untouched. I also know that I've heard of NO instances where someone has been banned AND bots or cheats in game.
Just to give you an example, I know a girl that plays this game, she made a second account on another computer so she could leave a stall up in Navea selling while she plays on her main computer. Her seller character got banned and her main character was NOT banned. According to the TOS of the game, multiple accounts are allowed so I have no idea why they're randomly banning people. No money was spent on either account though.
Sounds like it's either some retarded automated banning system is going crazy or someone at Aeria is planning on leaving the company soon and is having some fun before they leave :/

Well, since I posted this I've spoken to two people who have gotten banned.
The first person was unbanned straight away and received an apology stating that it was a "Security oversight".
The second person has been asked a LOAD of extra details and is still battling support over it.
Either way, if your account has been banned today (or in the next couple of days) it seems Aeria changed something on their servers and it's very, VERY broken and is banning random innocent people. Just send in a ban appeal like my friends have and I suspect Aeria will fix it pretty quick (the person who got unbanned had it all sorted out in under and hour, thats pretty amazing).

I've been watching the forums and shoutbox and I'm seeing MANY people asking "Why have I been banned?" only to have their post or shout deleted right after. Also, one person got a message saying they'd been unbanned, but still can't login, they spoke to support and got the "You're unbanned" message back but they're still banned. Aeria have screwed something up BIGTIME today.
