Didn't say it wasn't faster, it obviously is, just that it's a bit "off", not enough to be terrible but enough to be a bit annoying :P
p.s. it's because of the conjugated effect of higher xp plus the changes you made to the "quest item from monster" drop rate. Now that it's (a proper imho) near 1:1 monster:drop, you grind those mobs a lot less to get the quests finished, thus, you're at the "need next equipment tier" a bit sooner.

Yeah equipment needs scale up pretty quickly, when play testing through I found if I was struggling then the improved box drop rates let me patch my gear up a bit until I could craft better gear. Let me know how you find things as you carry on progressing!

Two people have been banned so far, you for being a toxic troll, and a guy who broke the rules and played 4 accounts. Everyone else is welcome here as long as they respect the rules.
Kuplumosk, I am happy to have one less player if it means having a nicer environment for the other player's, you need to seriously review how you act and what you say, the internet is anonymous but it doesn't mean people have to put up with a terrible attitude

It's unlikely this can be changed. You could play in a group, or use exp books on your lower mercenaries to help raise them.
