Well its not since the last gameguard patch. You have 3 options:
1. Running on Win Xp, gameguard will NEVER make the other windows crash
2. Running on Win Vista, you will be using a lot of memory, so crashing CAN happen
3. Win 7, best one, but it seems that if you ran the clients too fast, they will fail and crash
Best solution :
1. With Win 7, 64 bit; You will be able to use at max ur memory, i.e, more than the 3GO from Win Xp / Win Vista. With 64 bit, u'll be still able to see the process of AL and Gameguard
2. Best solution is a pc with 6Go RAM on Win Xp 64 bits. No crashes upon memory, BUT its is really hard to find a PC (unless mounted by urself) with 6Go+ and supporting Win Xp 64 bits, since the drivers will be a pain in the *** .
I use Win XP 64 bit, 6Go+ and can run easily 7 clients, which crashes once every 100 times^^
