Make a dupe real?

I heard from a guy that had 1 ring dupe it (mail) and then done some tricks and made the dupe real (not to disappear).
I asked him how did he do that and did not tell me,he just sayed it takes some time to make it 'real'.
Anyone has any ideas how he did that or if this is possible?
