Tired of virus-infested bots?

I was wondering if there is any genuine interest in this community for another "macro" bot. I would make it free and open source (with donations to a paypal account completely optional) and possibly in several language (C#/C/VB6 and possible java).

It would literally be able to do everything that ALBot does in it's current release of (1.83). With the bot being open source though, you could compile it yourself and not accuse anyone of the bot containing a virus.

[Technical]
I was planning out how to design this bot, and a convenient way would be to set a keyhook on global keyboard events in order to capture keystrokes in game (such as when one would want to start/close the bot). I would imagine that since setting such a keyhook would be "virus-like" (keylogger) activity, virus-scanners might pick up on this by scanning the binary file. So that's why my idea of "compile it yourself" is great. I could post an executable to download along with a CRC32 or sha1 hash of the file (or any other hash ppl wanted) that people could compare and check that the compiled version of the code is really the file i am offering for download.

In any case.. what do you guys think?

I say let`s make a list of what ppl want from a bot because u need to make something different then ALBoot...
as i said in other posts .. a macro bot is useless ... a hook... is "THE Thing!"
If u need help in makeing a G.U.I. i`ll help... but hooking is not my thing....

Why else would I post here offering to make a bot otherwise. Development might be slow since it is a side project obviously.. But I have nothing to do for the new few weeks besides consume alcohol and code.

As for the GUI I usually don't worry about that until the end of the application design. Are you talking about WPF for the GUI?

I wish you all the best I my self am working on a Bot/hack program that acts just like someone else I cant say hes name due to reasons of my own but when it is finished it will be Free unlike him and hes 950 Dollar **** anyway I wish you all the best and yes open source is the best by far just remember who you gave what kind of thing because thats how "fakes" are made...just a heads up...but I wish you all the best with the project

Thanks. I've shadowed your posts and I gotcha. The bot I am working on will be simple, although will have more functionality than bots such as ALBot. I don't wont to entirely reveal some of the ideas I have in mind, but if anyone is interested in helping me test the bot please PM me and I will definitely keep in touch. If you want to test the bot, I would prefer that you have a C#.NET 2.0 compliant compiler available since I do not want to be distributing an executable but some code.

I'll post some screens later, and don't expect it to be done anytime soon :P. I also have to decide on a GPL/Similar license to distribute the program.

This is wonderfull ideea mate, hook means u can alt+tab and still the bot woorks if minimised, then that means we can allso make multi client boot, i mean the bot could work in multiclient mode 2 clients max.... is wonderfull ideea i an would love to be the fisrt one to test give out ideeas and make this bot work better then anny bot we have now.

Ah. You're talking about a different type of hook. As great as that'll sound, I am not initially planning on doing doing any memory-related hooks. I am working on hooking the mouse and keyboard globally. Anyone should then be able to record "macros" of them doing things. Example: the "unlimited santa boxes" quest could be macroed and the bot would run it over and over again after you show it how to do it once. I've got it working quite unstably now, definitely not anywhere close to a public beta.

EDIT: The type of hook you're talking about would involve either sniffing packets or like I said injecting itself (hooking) into the Archlord process

Watch out if you try to inject anything into the alefclient.exe. Its not very well written and crashs a lot. I stayed away from injection and memory reading because of updates that could come more often in the future as the game grows.

You need a pretty good size team working on it all the time if they get their act in gear and have updates coming out like Silkroad does. That game keeps the devs of isrobot on their feet....

I already have a framework of a new ALBot written in C# .NET 2.0 and moving it into the 3.5 framework maybe. (not ready for prime time yet....)

One thing you may want to look at is getting a set of the decrypted archlord ini files. They hold a lot of great information. Going to look at using those soon, but once again they have to be inspected again if they release an update, even an update like the small one they just did for the xmas event.

Oh yeah, just released ALBot version 1.0.0.90 supports the elementalist class now with their pets (except for the piece of **** Holy ground) Has some other nice little features too...

Yeah well that's what i was thinking abt.
That's my definition of memory hook type bots.
That type of hooking would give us much more oportunities and much more features on bot.

Annyways u're ideea is nice tho... that means we could make ourselfs macro with revive and move back to hunting spot.

If you already have a version of ALBot you can get the update at my website

it is in the ALBot Patch download section.

I noticed someone posted it up for download but the file is missing the Config form file.....
