The only real security lies in an in-game trade. That's if the Ring is not a dupe that is.
Any other trade involves one of the parties handing over something first which then makes it possible for the receiving party to run like a thief and never be seen again. Tears flow then.
The trade in-game is either for Arch Gold, or for CC items, or high value items, or a mixture.
If it is all Arch Gold, there is a limit of 800M per individual trade using the manufactured Gold coins that are worth 10M ea and can only be stacked 5 high, which makes 50M per square for 12 squares in the trade window = 600m. Plus the limit of 200M in the Gold window below = 800M! Any gold trade over 800M therefore is a risk as there needs to be 2 trades or more to complete it, and the receiving person could cut and run after the first trade if they did not hand the item over in the first trade.
Trading CC items is easier as you could jam a high value trade into a single trade. 1 Wing box costs 3,500CC alone which equates to between 45M and 52.5M. If the wing is opened and is a high level wing, its value goes up (13%+ speed and up).
But you can't jam too much more into the trade, unless you also add 200M Gold in the gold window as well.
High value items such as Level 3 Attack stones which can sell at auction for 1.4 to 2.5M can be stacked in stacks of 99 per window. There is over 100m in a single window right there. You could just buy CC items in-game with the proceeds. Level 3 Lucky stones and the holy grail - Level 3 Physical Resistance stones which sell for 15m I think. You could certainly stack some Gold value into a trade with those.
Those items would have to be gathered at a steady pace as a mass buy up in the auction house would drive up the value of those items artificially/temporarily.
You could then do direct trades for CC items as those things are hot stuff and everyone wants them.
Anyway, the idea is to get the trade done in a single blow to get away from the scammer who runs away as soon as the $$$ or CC codes are his, and doesn't hand over the ring/necklace or whatever.
I have had a lot of dealings with people trying to sell Blodes and Shutas and so on, and the Scammers will never go for the direct trade if they can avoid it. It takes away their main advantage, which is the utter desperation of the buyer to possess the item which makes them take the chance on the honesty of the seller.
Also - don't deal with the seller's low level servant character. Insist on his main high level
Character or no deal. The scammer won't want to risk his high level being banned.
BY THE WAY, WHICH SERVER IS THE SHUTA ON DUDE?
