[Tutorial] ArcheAge VMWare open several times

Well I have made it quite a bit further, but still not 100% successful. It looks like Hackshield is still loading up at 25%, but then the game loads. I can get to the intro video, and if I CTRL-ALT-DELETE I can get the page to select a server. From there is says connecting for a while, and then I get disconnected by the gods. If I log onto my main window I can log in fine.

Any suggestions?

Works perfect, but i have some issues with the grafic? Someone has settings for it?

you need to set it at the lowest quality, since VMWare use a own Graphic Driver and not the Original Driver, so its not possible to play fluent with it (i think)

yes, it seems the hackshield detects this. Maybe by bypass the hackshield. This is be used again.

I am still getting the same problem. I can get to the sever log in and it just sits there connecting for a while before it disconnects me. Anyone have suggestions or have it fully working?

I'm also having issues with this. After the hackshield, it loads up a page in internet explorer much like when you normally try to dual client.

Okay, scratch that. Not sure exactly what I did, but now I'm at least having the same problem guinner16 with being stuck at the server select for awhile then DC.

Somethings I did-
(IMO) It wasn't immediately clear from the original post, but you need to do the key edit in regedit while in VMWare's Windows, NOT your actual windows. I did this prior to the post.

I saw another post mention putting "Nvidia 5500" for the key instead of leaving it blank. What worked for me instead was putting my video card exactly as it appeared in my DXDiag, which in my case was "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770".

The next time I tried to start Archeage within VMware, it gave me an error about missing a DirectX 9 DLL, which I was able to fix through downloading a directX installer from Microsoft.

Now I can get to the server select screen, and have the same issue as guinner16.

After playing around with this today I actually made some progress compared to previous results you guys have been seeing. I was able to login, connect to server and play the game however it seemed rather temperamental and froze on one occasion. The game ran relatively smoothly windowed with minimum graphical settings.

Maybe this will help anyone but here are all the things I can think of that could have an effect on successfully running the game on a VM

I followed the above steps, Installing windows 7 x64 onto a fresh virtual machine, editing the driverdesc registry to match that of my actual PC "Nvidia 560Ti blah blah" rather then leaving it empty.

I then shutdown the server, added all of the additional information to the .vmx file and started the server again.

I copied the Glyph folder (containing ArcheAge) from my PC to my VM, aswell as the Archeage folder from my documents.

After installing Direct X etc. I went to run Archeage and ran into the familiar Hackshield webpage and the game wouldn't run. I followed the recommendations on the page and set glyph to run as administrator, disabled "user account control" and deleted the "asc" folder within the "hshield" folder and ran "hsupdate".

After playing around with all these different things i'm not sure what made it work but I was then able to load the game and sit in que for 3 hours and then eventually play!

Hope to see some other success stories..

Can we please get a definitive answer on this? Nothing listed works, and several of us have been tinkering with this for hours with zip for results. Hackshield keeps kicking us to their homepage without a useful message at all!

[Edit]: Hmm i may have figured it out? Fingers crossed! Seems to be that you have to restart the VirtualMachine once you do the regedit or the new driver desc isn't propagated properly for hackshield to see it.

So I got to where i can run around for a couple seconds and then the entire VM starts locking up. Any idea what that's about?

Hi guys, this is my video run AA on the Russian version.
But with the European version I have a problem with HaskShield. I changed the setting in the registry(regedit) as in the first message, but I edit value on real name my video cart and the game started up.
In your case, you can try to change all "Driver Desc" on an empty.

did as described above - edited driverdesc with my real info - followed the hackshield instructions (delete folders etc) - and it works! cheers guys

*edit: it worked for half an hour, disconnected again.

i have problem that after few minuts Vmware freeze and can't even close it

or after client load 100% enter to the world and Vmware just auto close... Lol

any idea what cause this problem?
