Trying to get soc armor with the method desrcibed in this thread.

Okay, got some new information about sockets.
It is said to have something to do with immense artificial lag, clicking on improve and re-opening artisan with the items still in. Put them back in Artisan and improve again.
It's necessary to have intense Lag while doing this.

The logic behind this is to fire as much uprgade requests as possible, thus succeeding more often then just once, yet still the items stays on the same quality and level due to lag.
_

This is just a rumor i caught, anyone know how to cause the highest possible lag without dc/ing?

/edit:
Another thing i've been wondering about. Whats happening if you got a full inventory and upgrade stuff, the second you put the thing in, its not in the inventory, but a few seconds after. What if you pick up something in the same second you put it in... only do-able with heavy lag. Whats happening then?

How would that help socketing armor?
04/15/2005 19:24 kalvam#36
A socket only occurs when succesfully upgrading something. Getting an item to trigger the same upgrade 6 or 7 times while only upgrading one level should increase the chance for a socket drastically.

if an upgrade fails u can still get a socket

About failing... thats just a myth. I've got quite a few sockets so far, yet... none of those while failing.

I heard this only works until you drop/trade/log

What I've heard is:

There's a timeframe for about 5 minutes per day,
And during that time the chances of gettin' sockets are huge obviously.
A few friends did it, but everyone's so selfish to tell it ofc.
And for instance a guy on the server with full 2-sockets, I saw him and his friend like writing a . (dot) and "Check" on the MSG-Board and 30 seconds later he's standing in TC, I killed him and he dropped like 15 mets and 3-4 pair of normal lvl 10 boots...

a few of my friends know the time, they wont tell me the exact time but he told me its between 10 pm and 11pm server time.

Try Upgrading Just after sm. I Get the most socs around that time. Thats the time we all use. Only works for 5 mins though So try fast.

i managed to get a more specific time from my friend, all his sockets, and his friends sockets were gotten within 10 45 pm - 10 55 pm server time. between him and his friends they've got 12 sockets all together from upgrading at this time
04/18/2005 06:05 Crumbs#44
it says the time changes after every patch and its now as long as 5 minutes mayb only 30 second to 1 minute, i got a friend who goes to market to upgrade all his necky, boots and ring and hit sockets for all 3...
04/18/2005 07:57 whitespyder#45
maybe i should just squat in tc and when i see the socket message, pk them and have my water tao pick up all the dropped items, possibly boost his socketed item :)
