Your right about the part of not giving up,its well worth it in the end.
But not hard? Obviously you did not learn c++ like it should be, because understanding all of the stuff that is needed to write all your stuff from scratch to a succesfull base (obviously talking about a directx menu, NOT a nomenu) wont be done the first months, it can be done if you have nothing but free time.
But thats just the part of the base, this wont even get you undetected what so ever.
To master all of the required skills will take your years of practice.
You can think you master it, but there is always 'that' piece of code that owns you at the end.
Take for example GameGuard, back in the old days it could be bypassed by returning a certain value, as further as the knowledge of the developers of cheats became bigger, the company's got smarter and bigger.
In the end there will ALWAYS be a company that is smarter then you since they also have proffesional teams.
What im trying to say here is that mastering this skill will not come by itself and will take years to develop, you can think you know it all but you DONT.

Thumbs up for this post, can't be said better!

How do i say this? Get the fuck off..
No reason to copy paste stuff, like most of the people you probably won't give proper credits, and if you did you had like 99% of the people out here 100 credits wherefrom you did the role of copy-pasting it togetther.
Why would you even want to be a part of the hackingscene if you can't even code a simple function, etc?
Belive me, nobody likes copy pasters.
