monster.ini

Fine, you wimps. I'll have an up-to-date neptune boss alarm within two hours. It won't screw with any monsters like the current one does.

EDIT: So here you go, you lazy bums. this will announce the spawn region, potency, and name of a Neptune boss whenever it spawns. It also reads much nicer than the old one. Rename alarm.txt as Monster.ini and put it into your ZeroOnline/ini folder, then restart your client.

EDIT2: hah, one hour, most of which I actually spent playing. I'd be flaming a few of you that were begging except the English language lacks the words to describe how lazy and useless you people are.

Hi Ephy, you can increase the text size when the alarm , or hightlight to it to easy see

THanks

Not really. The file only creates a message, it has no control over how the message is sent. It's possible I might be able to make it flash, but it's a long-shot and I don't feel like sharing my idea without testing it myself.

I basically can't run or patch Zero, if anybody wants me to update the alarm to the newest version, post the new version of Monster.ini that was patched in.

So we've finally gotten an official ruling on the alarm.

Post #37, a TQ employee says that use of the monster alarm is illegal. I don't need to remind everybody to not get caught. The new one is in the first post.

where i should put it ?

Stop for a second and think about where all the other *.ini files in Zero are.

Technically, I don't have one out because I'm still worried about TQ caring about this website, and I did something a little careless that TQ could identify my account... if anybody at TQ paid attention. Still, better safe than sorry.

Anyways, I can pop a new one out literally minutes after a patch is released on the website. Mind you that this won't be updated every patch, because Monster.ini (without the alarm) isn't updated every patch, only when new monsters come out. 2871, which is the latest patch, did update Monster.ini.

Hey, EphY if you still check this do you have any advice on how to get the file to work again or has tq actually "fixed" it for good now? I have the edited file in the ini folder and it usually works for me but recently its stopped working even thought the alarm text is still there.

the boss alarm message is no longer working :S was hoping EphY could help

It doesn't work at the moment. Fixed times are camped manually by LA. Random boss ones are now based on pure luck. However once a random one spawns, there is a fixed set of timing the rest will eventually spawn.
