lol, Skys is throwing a fit and posted a screenshot of the website. Indefinitely down in the interest of TQ not banning me, but they do have a pretty short attention span.

ive got the file with the alarm the only person im going to trust is eme so its up to him to post it

That would be cool, there's a few monsters I'm interested in tracking to get an early start on the new official server, and having more examples of the alarm would help in creating my own alarm for other monsters. I'll obviously share the information with you guys, and any parameters that need specific values (I think there may be one or two).

*bump*
So I managed to reverse engineer the alarm for all the Neptune bosses, but it still only announces their spawn regions, not the coordinates. Here's a file that will announce when the Moon Fortress bosses spawn, to prove that I'm not just begging for the alarm. The system will announce Moon_Stronghold! whenever any of the boss Drillbots or Warbots spawn, but no coordinates show. I didn't see the point in posting the one that announces the spawns of Neptune bosses, since if you're asking for Monster.ini, you probably don't know where they spawn anyways.

Where do you put the Alarm txt file in your ZO folder?
05/18/2009 07:33 EphY#9
Don't bother, it's been patched over and I'll need to re-do it.

Here it is. I don't see the fuss about not sharing. TQ said it's not illegal to use the file.

Nicely done .. and ofcourse TQ will say its illegal to use -.-
05/20/2009 04:37 chongkhb#12
TQ GMs didn't say it was illegal though. They keep changing their stance. LA has been using it for a long time and they don't get banned.

Skys was temp-banned for being caught with it, and it looks like he's going to be perma-banned for throwing such a disproportionate fit over it. Anyways, what you posted was exactly what I had reverse-engineered, but I did learn something anyways. My results in a bit.

This code goes at the bottom of any entry: Roar=<#####>~%d~%s~appear~near~%s~(%d,%d)

That will announce the spawns of any monster you put it under, what map it spawned in, and give an approximate location of where it spawned. <#####> is fluff text, replace it with anything you want, but make sure it's unique for each monster. The first %d is potency, the first %s is the monster name, the second %s is the map it spawns on, and the set of %d at the end is the coordinates the monster spawns near.
