for the no animation, apart from being obvious if abused in front of players is there a way for the server to know your hacking via logs or such? AKA 100% safe as long as no one see's you?

Well, normally it is safe.
Normally means retail server and most private servers (I only know about notAion, it has a protection agains no anim).
Actually it is quite easy to detect no animation BUT NOONE DOES.
So as long as you are not on notaion you cane use it safely

This error appears if the login server is down.
