Sup, this is a follow up on my thread from yesterday. I'll be posting images and clips from my engine modernization project.
The client and TripleX engine are being converted to Rust, and I've done several engine modernization passes already, like implementing GI ( global illumination ) PBR materials, directional lighting, crisper shadows, etc.
I'll be updating this thread whenever I have new content to show.
Hmmm, something else you could add would be emissive effects (lighting up the world when it's dark etc.) Maybe some better particle effects.
As much as I loved 9D when I was younger, I do think the effects became lackluster over time and felt particularly flat. like Lightfoot effects that actually pop a nice trail rather than just sticking with the character at all times.
