[FIX] Hefei Crash

The game crashes in Hefei due to the modified patch 73 NINEDRAGONS.EXE file. I have come up with a workaround that will fix this while still allowing all the hacks (not just 9Disciple) to work properly.

My modified NINEDRAGONS.EXE in the download below is the exact same as the current official 9DVN NINEDRAGONS.EXE with a slight change to the login server address.

Installation:

(optional) - If you have the English version of NDTEXTDB_VN.XSD in the Data\Script
   	     directory, make sure to back it up before doing step 1

1 - Run the 9Dragons launcher and let it update

2 - After updating is finished, close the launcher

3 - Copy the NINEDRAGONS.EXE to the root of your game directory, overwriting 
    the existing.

4 - If you did the optional step, copy your backup to the Data\Script directory
    overwriting the existing.

5 - Press Windows key + R (run dialog), type in: %systemroot%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
    and press enter. In the Open With dialog select Notepad.

6 - Add the following line to the end of the file on a new line: 

127.0.0.1		localhost-9dvn

7 - Save and close the file.

You do not need the Patch73 modified files that we have been using, in fact they will not work with this EXE and will cause it to crash. That's why you need to do a full update with the launcher.

Now just open your hack, run the launcher (cancel the update), start the game and login as usual.

Why don't you follow my link? You're running Patch73.zip you downloaded from before. It is not my fix.. Just click my link I posted and make sure you're running the right one. The filename is Patch73-Hefei_fix.rar

Heh, I did. I right clicked it to open it up in a new tab, downloaded it, tried extracting it, and it was password protected. :P So, I deleted it, downloaded it again, and for some reason the second time it WASN'T password protected, and worked just fine. Hehe. Thank you for making the fix, by the way! ^.^

hi saweet, i can not login (failed to get host) when i used your file, with patch 73 full i never crash in hefei, i just crashed in Hefei when i used patch 69 for hacking with 9Disciple or the other hack, till don't understand why we need this file, i tried to use this file but got 9Disciple not work

With the hcnc patch 73 files you will get disconnected whenever you're in the market place in Hefei. That is what these files are for. Also, my method only requires the modified NINEDRAGONS.EXE, and none of the extra files like the other patched files do.

This fix won't work without using one of the hacks. I haven't tried it with all of the hacks, but it should work for all of them that use a proxy between client and server like 9Disciple, YahooMessenger, and Firefox5.

You'll get failed to get host if you don't modify your hosts file as per the instructions.
