Lmao, I looked thorugh the 2006 source code a bit and I saw a commented line which said something like "not certain how this works". An original dev wrote it next to a wall of code! I'll try to look for it and post it.

Well, considering everything is written by them, there's a bit of a possibility that someone may screw things up. Bear in mind that the whole graphic engine, client and server, along with all the bugs and ideas was written by a crew of Chinese C++ programmers. Yes, the source code has tons of faults, yet it still works and can be patched at some point. What 9D v2 offers IMHO is nothing more than better textures and some more utilization of DirectX...

A crew of korean programmers you mean? And yeah it works, so what? A lot of things work. It's like Windows Vista SP1. Works but it's absolute garbage.

A better cpu/ram usage is also expected and they're probably going to get rid of this nasty XKernel or Xbase or whatever its name is.

That or port the entire game and its contents over to a new engine that would seem a far more financially viable option than to rebuild everything from scratch. Word has been very quiet in terms of development and I'm 90% the current devs for Redfox's version are not the original developers or not all of them.
