So with BlizzCon 2026 literally happening next week (12–13 September), it got me thinking about our little corner of the MMO world.
And I couldn't help but wonder... could something like that ever work for 4Story?
I know we're not exactly WoW-like in terms of playerbase, so a full-blown in-person convention with cosplay contests and a giant expo hall is probably an overkill. But even a scaled-down online version (livestreamed dev panels, a roadmap reveal, community tournaments, maybe an AMA with the devs - if there are any lol) could go a long way for reviving interest and giving the community something to actually look forward to instead of just vague posting they do on Facebook.
Things a 4StoryCon could realistically include:
- A yearly roadmap/expansion reveal instead of surprise-dropping content
- Community PvP tournaments with actual prizes
- Dev Q&A / AMA sessions where they address the stuff we've all been asking about for years
- Some kind of in-game cosmetic tied to attending/watching (like BlizzCon does with mounts/pets)
- Content creator spotlights
Honestly, even just the hype cycle around an announced 4StoryCon could be good for the game - get some dormant players to log back in, give streamers/YouTubers something to cover etc.
Curious what you all think though:
- Is the playerbase even big enough to justify something like this anymore?
- Would you rather see Gameforge invest resources into an event, or just actual content updates?
- If something like that happened, would you watch/attend it?
Let me know if I'm being delusional here lol.
