I hope you are all doing well.
I’m writing this post as a long-time 4Story player who still truly enjoys the game and its unique atmosphere. 4Story is not a dead game — it still has an active community and passionate players — and that is exactly why I’m here today.
🎯 Purpose of this post
The goal of this message is to start an open discussion about the possibility of creating a community-driven 4Story server, made by players, for players.
This is not about replacing anything, competing, or claiming that the game needs to be “revived.” Instead, the idea is to explore whether it is possible to create a server that:
- Is built around player feedback
- Focuses on balance and long-term stability
- Avoids excessive pay-to-win systems
- Prioritizes fun, fairness, and community involvement
🛠️ Looking for technical knowledge & experience
I’m especially interested in hearing from people who have experience or knowledge related to:
- Setting up a 4Story private server
- Server-side tools and emulators
- Required software and dependencies
- Database structure and management
- Client-side modifications
- Security, stability, and anti-exploit measures
- Hosting solutions (VPS or dedicated servers)
Even high-level explanations or guidance on where to start would be extremely helpful.
💰 Questions about costs and resources
I would also appreciate any information regarding:
- Approximate initial setup costs
- Monthly hosting expenses
- DDoS protection and backups
- Maintenance and long-term sustainability
🤝 Community involvement
This project, if it ever moves forward, would be community-oriented from the start. Transparency, discussion, and player feedback would be essential.
If you are:
- A developer
- A former server owner
- A knowledgeable player
- Or simply someone interested in sharing ideas or advice
❤️ Final words
4Story has always been more than just a game — it’s about friendships, rivalries, guild wars, and memories that many of us still carry today.
If you believe in the idea of a server shaped by its players, and you’re willing to share knowledge or opinions, I’d love to hear from you.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Best regards,
