hi guys!
interesting topic we picked right here.
julian, to be really honest, my friendship cant be brought with something. sure, i can like a person more when i get something from him/her, but thats not real friendship.. as to the files, im not exactly sure. yes, everyone would want them for free (lol who doesnt want free stuff :'D).
lets use
my case for example. im a pretty normal epvp guy with average (rather unskilled) C++ skills, i kind of now my way around mySQL and i know alot about server structures in general. what does that make me? unable to achieve what some of the guys on this forum have achieved, like iSuicideBomber or Weom for example, because they are simply
better than me. i know how to set everything up because it just makes sense, i can modify the servers DB and the client to some extent aswell because it makes sense. i can even do some compiling and code fixing in the source, but im not gonna be able to compile a full batch of files.
so that means if i would set up a server it wouldnt last pretty long. AND I KNOW THAT!
what does that mean for the epvp community? most of these guys (like me :'D) arent able to achieve anything really "good" with the files. the only thing thats on my mind is actually learning. because thats how you learn, you figure it out yourself. you got google, you got a brain so why shouldnt you play around with something bigger, so that you can become even better!
what does that mean for the files (
TL;DR):
i think its for a good use. yes, those are files worth something, which in turn would make other files with the same or lower "version" less worthy, thats somehow true. BUT you know what? that adds another currency to the 4story community:
FEATURES! the more cool features a server has, the more people will like it. developers will start on working on extraordinary stuff. not that i dont enjoy all you and other peoples work, its amazing!!
i just dont want people being scammed or begged for something that they probably cant even use properly.
sorry for this wall of text!
sincerely, buddy
