Here we go !

OK first of all turn on CheatEngine
After hooking the processor with CE, search for your character name

Type in Value = your character name
And the Type must be Text
And press First Scan

After
Right click on the 3rd address and browse it memory region!



After
In memory view, you should be able to see changing(moving) address
Add 06 to the list by right click -> add.
Change this value to 1 when you die.
This is in byte view (ctrl+1),

Does this trick work:

"1" when you are live
"0" when you are dead
and then you just freeze at "1" when you are dead?
