[Guide] Overclocking

First off, if you don't know what Overclocking is, do not continue. Please read up on Overclocking your GPU before continuing with this. This CAN damage your card if done wrong, I am not liable or responsible in any way if you harm your card. ATItool is built for ATI and Nvidia graphics cards, if you are using anything else, I'm sorry but it probably won't work.

If you are only experiencing Overheating problems due to fan regulation, only follow steps 1 - 3.

1. Download EVGA Precision and ATItool 0.26 for XP users 0.27b for Vista users. (Google them)
2. Open EVGA Precision and ATItool in Admin mode on Vista
3. Bring up EVGA Precision, Un-click the "Auto" next to the Slide labeled "Fan Speed" then slide the slider up until you run at about 49 - 55 degrees Celsius, don't go beyond 80% and press Apply on the left.
4. Switch over to ATItool and press in the bottom right area "Scan For Artifacts".
5. Switch back to EVGA Precision and move the Core Clock (Leaving them linked) slider in increments of 15 then press Apply.
6. Look at ATItool, there will be a window to the left and at the bottom it will say "No errors found for ##:##:##" (the number will increase as time goes on, it's a watch basically) or you will hear a beeping and see yellow bars appearing when you have gone to far and it will say "Errors Found".
7. Continue switching back and forth between EVGA Precision and ATItool increasing by 15 until you hit the part where you error, once you error decrease by 15 and hit apply.

Start Mabinogi and see how well you perform on FPS, you should see a general difference. If you are still not satisfied, you CAN (I do not recommend it) clock your Fan Speed to 100% and continue overclocking your GPU, if you need to overclock above 80% fan speed, you should probably buy a new Graphics card.

This is useful on Oblivion. I have Nvidia 5200 on my Dell, and I can't buy a better one, because the others don't fit on this computer. Thanks Aldeel. Two thumbs up from me.

Do you both have integrated cards? If you don't, are the cards super-cheap? Low-end cards won't allow you to change fan speeds.

It's what I use, make sure you click the "2" on GPU on the left of them there will be your intergrated card(1), and then your 9800(2).

Also, for overclocking on the 9800. Corclock 600 Shader Clock 1500 Memory Clock 900 and Fan Speed 80

One problem. I only see "1." I don't have "2."

Overclocking can reduce CPU life, and CPU is hella expensive. I reccomend you do not use this unless you're filty rich. That's just me though.
